ChronoTracer’s AI assistant lets users ask questions about their evidence in plain language. The AI queries the structured event database produced by the deterministic pipeline and returns actual events with source citations. It can break complex questions into multiple steps and use internal tools to filter, search, cross-reference, and sequence events. The AI also forms keyword searches, Boolean queries, and complex filter combinations on behalf of the user, translating a plain-language question into the right combination behind the scenes.
How does ChronoTracer’s AI differ from other AI-powered legal technology tools?
Most AI-powered legal technology tools use retrieval-augmented generation to let users “chat with their documents.” ChronoTracer takes a different approach: a deterministic pipeline first restructures your evidence into a structured event database, and then the AI queries that database. This means the AI returns actual events with real metadata and source citations, not generated text. The deterministic foundation is verifiable and repeatable. The AI layer sits on top, adding flexibility and natural language interaction without introducing hallucination risk into the evidence itself.
How does the AI work with manual filters?
The AI and manual filters are complementary, not competing. Users can start an inquiry with the AI, use manual filters to refine further by event type, participant, date range, and other criteria, and then go back to the AI with follow-up questions on the filtered set. For teams with established filter workflows, the AI extends those workflows rather than replacing them.
Can I connect my own AI tools to ChronoTracer?
Yes.
